What crypto changes about a bonus

One real difference, and it is not the arithmetic

The multiple, the base and the weighting all behave identically whether a bonus is credited in dollars or in bitcoin. What is different is that the locked balance moves in value while it is locked, so the amount that eventually becomes withdrawable is not the amount that was credited.

Two smaller differences at the cashier

The qualifying minimum is often set in an asset, so the amount needed to qualify moves with the price.
The deposit is valued at the rate when it lands, which decides the size of the bonus credited against it.

And one thing that is not a difference
